Outline of Lecture Course

The topic of this seminar is property law, broadly defined, with specific research topics set my the membership. Property is a traditionally staid field of legal study that stands at the center of many rapidly emerging societal and economic changes, and is today a flash-point of controversy. Control over intellectual property and personal information are a focus of debate in developed countries, and freshly minted property systems in the developing world are experiencing severe structural stresses in the face of globalization. A selecton of these are hard problems will be the focus of our work. 

Course Objectives To develop independent study skills and an eye for emerging issues and novel solutions in the law of property.
Textbooks Materials will be supplied via Canvas.

Assessment

Class participation and discussion: 20%; Presentation: 80 %

Prerequisites There are no prerequisites for this course.
Instructions for Out-of-Class Study Students will be tasked with collecting materials for discussion and presenting on their selected topics.
