Outline of Lecture Course

This class is conducted in Japanese in an interactive way. In this class, students will read various reading materials written in Japanese language. Students will acquire the ability to understand and interpret critically. It is targeted to students whose Japanese proficiency level is at least intermediate.

Course Objectives

The purpose of this course is to make students be able to understand and interpret critically by reading material written in Japanese language.

Textbooks materials will be handed out from lecturer during the class.

Assessment

Attendance and Class participation (20%)
assignment (60%)
test (20%)

Students are expected to attend every class.  If the student was absent for more than 5 lectures, he/she will be considered as “absent”.

Being late three times is counted as one absence.

Prerequisites Students who received an Exemption of Japanese language course in International and exchange center are under-qualified to sign up with this course. 
Instructions for Out-of-Class Study *Approximately one-two hours of learning is required to check vocabulary and expressions
Responding to Student Questions *Questions are accepted by email at any time

This syllabus is temporary. It may be altered due to the students Japanese proficiency level. They are required to prepare and review each lesson. In addition to the assignments the lecturer gives, they are expected to carry out work on their own.
